Who let this guy on the podium???
Uh oh... here comes Aaron!
1st post. Of many.
So now I am at Magenic, in the Chicago office. First of all, what a great place to be and work. Let me first, and foremost, say that if you are reading this blog from outside Magenic and are wondering “do those Magenic folks really have the culture they say they do” - let me be the first to validate for you that... well... yes they do. This is a truly incredible operation.
So - about me. What are my technology interests, background, etc. Well, I am a .net guy (duh - this IS Magenic). I have done work for clients with .net, big and small. I am no fan of heavy-weight methodology, but a huge fan of taking the time you would have spent filling out forms and redirecting said time to, again, refining the interface of your app so that it is even easier to use than what you produced the last iteration. I describe myself as a ruthless advocate for spending more time than you think you need making the UI truly great.
I love the .NET 2.0 framework, and I especially love GENERICS in the .NET 2.0 framework. In fact, I was a big time skeptic of OOP prior to getting to play with generics (lets just say that I have implemented IEnumerable too many times). I love what Rocky has done with CLSA.NET.
Enough about me. Look for this space to feature the occasional quasi-controversial technology rant, observation, or musing, as well as the occasional programming helpful hint.
